Nice Welcome Pack from O’reilly

Saturday, April 23rd, 2005

Hi all,

A while ago I registered us at:

http://ug.oreilly.com/

and

http://wiki.oreillynet.com/usergroups/index.cgi?PerlMongers

Yesterday they sent me a nice parcel.

In it was:

2 x T-Shirts
4 x Postcard Packs
2 x Tim O’reilly Books
1 x Template Toolkit Book

That’s pretty nice of them for just registering on the O’reilly User Group
Program.

Once we have an actual meeting, I will think up a competition or something to win these.

I am reading the Template Toolkit book, and keeping a T-shirt for myself.

I hope you guys don’t mind ;-)

Thanks,

Gavin.

Feel free to post your code!

Gavin.

Dear all,

I have added a plugin called cat2email, that posts a new post to a mailing list or e-mail address.

This is just a new post to test that.

Thanks,

Gavin.

Converting RPMs without rpm

This is a great little script that I found a while back. It still gets constant use on my linux system. Although other programs like alien exist these all work on having rpm installed. This script needs just perl, cpio and gzip which are quite common to find on a lot of the base installs.
